Following a period of unrest at Old Trafford, several players, including Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, have expressed desires to leave the club. Rashford’s transfer to Barcelona is reportedly progressing, and Sancho looks set to follow suit, paving his path to Italy.
According to SportMediaset, Sancho has consented to a four-year contract worth โฌ6 million (ยฃ5.2 million) per annum. The deal with Juventus is reportedly ‘increasingly close’ as negotiations between the Italian club and Manchester United move towards a conclusion.
Juventus initially offered โฌ17 million (ยฃ14.7 million) for the winger but have expressed willingness to meet United’s valuation of around โฌ25 million (ยฃ21.7 million), inclusive of bonuses. Part of the arrangement includes Juve covering a portion of the severance pay from Sanchoโs United contract, as he accepts a substantial pay cut.
Currently among the highest earners at United, with a weekly wage of ยฃ250,000, Sancho’s financial package at Juventus will see him earn significantly less, save for Dusan Vlahovic, who remains the club’s top earner. Expectations are high that the transfer will be finalised before Thursday, 24 July, allowing Sancho to join Juventus for their training camp.
Sancho’s absence from United’s recent friendly against Leeds United and his exclusion from the upcoming tour of America further suggests his departure is imminent.
