In an encouraging development for Arsenal fans, Bukayo Saka, the club’s luminary winger, is reportedly on course to finalise a new contract before the year concludes, with a substantial salary increment as part of the negotiations.
The Gunners have been diligently focusing on securing their pivotal players with fresh contracts, marking Bukayo Saka and William Saliba as top priorities. Presently, both talents are contracted until 2027. However, recent reports suggest that Saliba has already reached an accord with the north London side, with an official announcement anticipated imminently.
In his recent press conference, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, practically confirmed Saliba’s contract renewal amidst lingering interest from Real Madrid. Arteta expressed his delight, citing Saliba’s instrumental role in the team and his desire to remain part of Arsenal’s future.
“When I sat down with William and asked about his intentions, his stance was clear: ‘No, I want to stay here, I want to play for you, and I’m very happy,'” Arteta shared, highlighting the Frenchman’s unwavering commitment to the club.
Arteta also voiced his hopes for Saka to follow suit, stating: “From everything that I know, he is a player that is extremely happy, and proud to have the role that he has at the football club. Things will develop in a natural way, like they always do, and everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us. Hopefully, we can do it.”
According to Football Transfers, negotiations with Saka are advancing promisingly, with an agreement anticipated before the festive period. The proposed deal includes a lucrative wage increase, potentially elevating Saka’s earnings to approximately £250,000 per week, thus making him one of Arsenal’s top earners.
However, this prospective package remains slightly less than the £280,000 per week reportedly earned by Kai Havertz, which insiders indicate will likely be a focal point in the continuing discussions regarding Saka’s contract terms.
Arsenal supporters will be eagerly awaiting further developments, hopeful that both Saka and Saliba’s commitments will fortify the club’s ambitions for the seasons ahead.
