Arsenal luminary Thierry Henry has showered praise upon Bukayo Saka, following the young Gunner’s significant achievement of reaching his 100th goal contribution in just his 200th appearance for the club. Saka’s spot-kick, crucial in securing Arsenal’s triumph over West Ham, propelled his side to the summit of the Premier League table.
The rapport between Henry and Saka seems to be exceptionally strong, with the World Cup-winning former striker regularly exchanging encouraging text messages with the Arsenal academy graduate. At just 24 years old, Saka follows in the illustrious footsteps of his mentor by becoming only the second Arsenal player to score a goal at the juncture of 200 appearances.
Henry took to Instagram to publicise his pride and joy for Saka’s accomplishments, sharing the heartfelt message: “From the ACADEMY to the EMIRATES, from your DEBUT to 200 PL GAMES, with 55 GOALS and 45 ASSISTS!!! KEEP on MOVING BUKAYO!!!!!! So PROUD of YOU.” Saka was quick to respond in the comments with a simple yet touching “Grateful,” complemented by a praying hands emoji and a red heart emoji.
This wasn’t their only exchange over the weekend. After Arsenal’s victory against the Hammers, Saka disclosed that Henry had sent him a timely and profound reminder, further cementing their bond and Henry’s influence on the young prodigy.
