Reports have emerged from Old Trafford indicating that Manchester United are establishing a firm deadline to transfer Alejandro Garnacho following recent ‘private discussions’ regarding his future with the club.
Garnacho finds himself in a predicament at Manchester United, having fallen out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim during the 2024/25 season. The Argentine winger’s struggles with form and friction with Amorim, coupled with the tactical shift to a 3-4-3 formation which limits opportunities for him in a No.10 role, have complicated his standing at the club.
Tensions reached a boiling point following United’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, where Garnacho was restricted to a brief substitute appearance. In the aftermath, Garnacho publicly criticised the club, prompting Amorim to instruct the winger to seek a new employer in the transfer window. However, Garnacho has yet to finalise a move.
Manchester United are looking to offload several players, including Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho, in an effort to bolster their transfer funds. Despite potential interest, manager Amorim has insisted that they will not concede to unfavourable terms and are steadfast in their valuation of these players.
Amorim recently stated: “Some players need to leave to make room in the squad, while others desire new challenges. If they cannot secure a move, they will remain United players. We are prepared for all eventualities.”
The club appears willing to adopt a patient approach regarding Garnacho, yet reports from GiveMeSport suggest that an end-of-month deadline has been set for his departure. Garnacho, who is valued at £60 million, reportedly prefers to stay in the Premier League, complicating negotiations with interested clubs such as Serie A champions Napoli.
Private negotiations have intensified to hasten Garnacho’s exit decision before the month’s end. Though his future remains uncertain, Manchester United’s determination to resolve the situation is evident as they continue private discussions with multiple clubs.
