Manchester United have confirmed the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim.
In an official statement, the club announced that Amorim, who was appointed in November 2024, has left his position after guiding the team to the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao in May.
With United currently sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership said the decision was made reluctantly but believes a change is necessary to maximise the team’s chances of achieving the highest possible league finish this season.
The club expressed its gratitude to Amorim for his efforts during his time at Old Trafford and wished him success in his future career.
Former midfielder Darren Fletcher will assume interim responsibility for the team, starting with Wednesday’s match against Burnley.
