The ever-keen gaze of Manchester United seems to be set firmly on Nottingham Forest’s dynamic attacking midfielder, Morgan Gibbs-White. Lately, the Englishman has expressed admiration for the Red Devils’ recent resurgence within the Premier League, underlining the club’s remarkable return to form under manager Ruben Amorim.
The formidable United side have rekindled their Premier League campaign with three consecutive victories, most recently overwhelming Brighton 4-2 at the famed Old Trafford. This winning streak has lifted the previously beleaguered Amorim into safer waters, propelling United up to a respectable sixth place on the league table.
In stark contrast, Nottingham Forest’s season has been anything but stable, with managerial turmoil seeing both Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou shown the door at the City Ground. This weekend, Forest faces an uphill battle as they meet Manchester United, and it appears Gibbs-White, reportedly on United’s radar, can’t help but acknowledge the newly revived Red Devils.
Speaking to Stan Sport, Gibbs-White lauded United’s current form: “It’s been incredible to see, given their struggles in recent years. They’ve stuck with Ruben Amorim, and now we’re really seeing the grit and determination a team like United should exhibit – the league has certainly missed that.”
Though determined to focus on his own team’s challenges, he added, “We’ve been working on some strategies this week, and with a few more days to go, I’m confident our manager, Sean Dyche, will have some clever ideas on how to tackle them.”
Despite there being no new official links to Gibbs-White lately, former United chief scout Mick Brown, still a source of insights from Old Trafford, noted in March, “Man United have been keeping an eye on Morgan Gibbs-White. He’s dynamic, hard-working – qualities that Amorim values hugely.”
Brown continues, “Given their financial plight, United would likely need to offload players to fund a move for Gibbs-White, who wouldn’t come cheap. Forest will demand a hefty fee, especially if they clinch a Champions League berth.”
Amidst all speculation, it is clear Gibbs-White remains a player valued both on and off the pitch, potentially becoming a cherished asset in Manchester’s ongoing quest for Premier League supremacy.
