Eberechi Eze took to social media following his performance for Crystal Palace in their recent pre-season victory. Eze was influential in the Eagles’ 3-0 triumph over League Two side Crawley Town, netting the second goal at the Broadfield Stadium. The talented playmaker began the match and was later substituted midway through the second half.
This marked Eze’s initial appearance for Crystal Palace this summer, having missed out on their previous friendly against Millwall, his former club. His absence was attributed to an extended break after representing England at the conclusion of last season.
Now back in the fold, Eze shared snapshots of himself in action during the Crawley encounter on his Instagram story. This social media update coincides with ongoing rumours linking him to Arsenal during the current transfer window. According to sources, the Gunners are keen to bolster their attacking options and have pinpointed Eze as a primary target. However, Crystal Palace are firm on their valuation, demanding the £67.5 million release clause in his contract be met.
For the time being, Arsenal’s focus appears to be on player departures following their acquisition of Viktor Gyökeres. Players like Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Karl Hein, and Oleksandr Zinchenko might be heading for the exit, while Fulham have shown interest in Reiss Nelson, as per football.london’s reports. Consequently, a seventh signing during this transfer window may not be imminent, hinging on further dealings.
Unlike Gyökeres, Eze remains fully engaged in his pre-season duties with Crystal Palace. The England international is participating in back-to-back friendlies against Augsburg as part of Palace’s training camp in Austria, before the squad returns to London in preparation for the Community Shield.
