Arsenal are poised to secure the futures of rising stars William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, with the club maintaining optimism over renewing their contracts according to reports. Following a summer of strategic negotiations, the Gunners have already secured the commitments of three key squad members, demonstrating a proactive approach in their contract dealings.
Gabriel Magalhaes, who has formed a formidable partnership with Saliba at centre-back, agreed to a new contract at the start of the transfer window, despite currently recovering from a hamstring procedure. When questioned about his future, he expressed optimism, stating, “Yeah, hopefully – of course, there is nothing now, but there is a good conversation with my agent and the club. Let’s see.”
Additionally, promising talents Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri have also committed their futures to the club. Although Nwaneri’s new five-year deal has yet to be officially announced by the club, it is understood to be a done deal. Both players have already made inroads into the senior squad and are viewed as integral to Arsenal’s future.
Since joining Arsenal in March, Andrea Berta has been instrumental in shaping the club’s recruitment and contract renewal strategy. Alongside Director of Football Operations James King and Managing Director Richard Garlick, Berta’s early tenure has been marked by success. Not only has the club bolstered its ranks with six new signings, but the confidence in retaining Saliba and Saka underlines the importance of continuity and stability at the club.
Manager Mikel Arteta has spoken in high regard of Berta, noting that their alignment in vision was clear from the outset. “Since day one, when we were interviewing for that role, he was very clear, ‘this is what we need to go to the next level,'” Arteta remarked. “I was very aligned and you can tell with his experience, he’s built some great squads, he’s won major trophies, so someone with that clarity is very, very helpful.”
This strategic foresight and collaborative approach seem to be paving the way for long-term success at Arsenal, as the club strives to build on its current squad while securing key future prospects.
