Mijatovic is a great choice for sporting director, and Capello a great coach. (Divac in the basketball department is great as well.) You are completely right about the difficulty of these signings being completed. I think people are over this element of presidencies after the Florentino Perez disaster. Yes he brought Figo as promised, and Zidane, Ronaldo, Vieira and Emerson are the two only players I can think of that didn't work out. However we saw that this isn't what makes a team successful. What makes a team succesfull is giving a good coach freedom to suggest signings; and not signing injury-prone English players because one is rumored to be good, and the other is the fifth Golden Ball award to play on the team. Basically, purely commercial purposes. Also, everyone claimed Florentino Perez did a good job handling economics of the club, but after 3 disastrous years his economic model has only held up for a team that wins severeal titles a year. The team is still considered the richest, but this is because of its capita; debts and other factors aren't being held into account. A true mess... I have faith in Calderon to make things progress, even if they dont buy Kaka, or Robben, and say only buy Cesc...
