Puma the top shirt supplier at Germany 2006
3rd June 2006
Returning to its past glories, Puma will be the leading supplier of shirts at the World Cup with 12 countries wearing the leaping cat. Nike is second, supplying 8 teams although with countries like Brazil among its customers it will hope that quality prevails over quantity. Adidas is a disappointing third, with 6 but like Nike its teams are likely to progress further than Puma’s and it does supply the official match ball.

I never thought I’d say this, but Nike didn’t do too bad this timea around. The designers from adidas should be taken out back and horsewhipped. Umbro is the only company that consistently resists the urge to ‘modernize’ their designs. The Humphrey brothers would be proud.

Yeah, I agree with you -
The Adidas designs have been modernised too much…. they’re getting dangerously close to those horrible adidas equipment shirts everyone had in the early 90s…

true. Respect Ecuador for having the only nationalized brand.

True, although you could argue that Germany, USA and England have nationalised brands too
